Thigh Lift
Achieve smooth, contoured thighs with a thigh lift at Elevé Cosmetic Surgery. Our expert surgeons remove excess skin and reshape your thighs to create sleek, proportionate contours that allow you to wear shorts, skirts, and swimwear with complete confidence.
About Thigh Lift Surgery
A thigh lift, also known as thighplasty, addresses excess, sagging skin on the inner and outer thighs that can result from significant weight loss, aging, or genetics. At Elevé, we understand how loose thigh skin can cause discomfort, chafing, and self-consciousness, preventing you from enjoying activities and wearing the clothes you love.
Our specialty-trained cosmetic surgeons use advanced techniques to remove unwanted skin and fat, creating smooth, well-proportioned thighs that complement your overall body shape. Whether you need an inner thigh lift, outer thigh lift, or a combination approach, we customize each procedure to address your specific concerns while minimizing visible scarring.
The results of thigh lift surgery can be transformative, eliminating skin laxity and chafing while creating a more youthful, athletic appearance. We work closely with each patient to understand their goals and develop a surgical plan that delivers natural-looking results in harmony with their body proportions.
Who Gets a Thigh Lift?
Thigh-lift candidates aren't limited to major weight-loss patients. Common candidates include patients with laxity from aging, genetics, hormonal or post-pregnancy changes, weight fluctuation, post-bariatric weight loss, and post-GLP-1 weight loss. Some patients also seek treatment for chronic inner-thigh chafing. Candidacy is determined at consultation.
Aging & Genetics
Inner-thigh skin loses elasticity over time. Some patients are genetically prone to laxity even at a healthy weight.
Inner-Thigh Chafing
Some patients seek a medial thigh lift for chronic inner-thigh chafing or skin friction, even without significant weight loss. Whether the procedure is appropriate is determined at consultation.
Post-Pregnancy / Hormonal
Hormonal and weight changes during pregnancy or perimenopause can leave inner-thigh laxity that exercise won't fix.
Major Weight Loss
Post-bariatric, post-GLP-1 (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro), or post-natural-weight-loss patients commonly need both medial and lateral thigh skin removed.
How it Works
Consultation
During your consultation, we'll assess the degree of skin laxity in your thighs and discuss which type of thigh lift will best address your concerns. We'll explain incision placement, expected results, and recovery.
Surgical Planning
We create a customized surgical plan based on your anatomy and goals. Incisions are carefully planned to be as inconspicuous as possible, typically in natural creases and along the bikini line.
Surgery Day
Under anesthesia, excess skin and fat are removed, and remaining tissue is lifted and tightened to create smooth, sculpted thighs. The procedure typically takes 2-4 hours depending on the extent of treatment.
Recovery & Results
You'll wear compression garments and limit strenuous activity initially. Most patients return to work within 2-3 weeks. As swelling subsides and incisions heal, your newly contoured thighs will emerge.
Candidates for Thigh Lift
You don't need to be a weight-loss patient. Common candidates include patients at goal weight with aging or genetic laxity, hormonal or post-pregnancy changes, and chronic inner-thigh chafing, as well as post-bariatric and post-GLP-1 patients. Candidacy is determined at consultation.

Thigh Lift Techniques at Elevé
Your thigh-lift technique depends on whether laxity is concentrated at the upper inner thigh, runs the full length of the thigh, or extends around the outer thigh.
Mini Medial Thigh Lift
Incision hidden in the groin crease. Best for upper-inner-thigh laxity only. Most discreet scar.
Vertical (Full) Inner Thigh Lift
Incision runs from groin down the inner thigh. Best for moderate-to-severe laxity along the entire inner thigh.
Outer / Lateral Thigh Lift
Often combined with a body lift to address outer-thigh laxity. Best for patients with circumferential thigh laxity.
Thigh lift may be combined with a lower body lift when laxity extends to hips and buttocks, or with liposuction when both skin laxity and stubborn fat are present — when these combinations are appropriate for the patient. What's appropriate for you is determined by your surgeon. It's also commonly staged alongside an arm lift or tummy tuck as part of a full skin removal surgery plan.
